Why we sacked three police officers, punished 14 others ‘severely’ – PSC

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has sacked three police officers, demoted another five, and punished 14 others ‘severely’ for various acts of misconducts.

Ikechukwu Ani, who speaks for the police body charged with the promotion, welfare, and discipline of the rank and file of the Nigeria Police Force, listed the dismissed officers as two deputy superintendents, and another in the rank of an assistant superintendent.

He said, “One Chief Superintendent of Police, one Superintendent, one Deputy Superintendent and two Assistant Superintendents of Police were reduced in rank for misconduct.”

It also said 14 were severely punished, six were punished and seven were issued warning letters.
