In Borno state, a clash between Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorist groups led to the death of 15 rice farmers in Karkut, Bulabulin, and Koshebe in Mafa LGA of Borno State. The farmers were harvesting their crops and caught in cross fire from the belligerent groups. Explaining the incident, an anonymous security source said ISWAP members confronted the Boko Haram group, asking them to release the rice farmers kept in their captivity. “An argument ensued between them, which led to the clash. Unfortunately, the Boko Haram terrorists vented their anger on the poor farmers and slaughtered them,” the security source allegedly said.
