Tinubu makes last-ditch effort to garner support for Akpabio, Abass

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making a last-ditch effort to garner support for Senator Godswill Akpabio and Hon. Tajudeen Abass, his two handpicked candidates for the positions of president of senate and speaker, house of representatives respectively.

Some of the lawmakers-elect have voiced their opposition to the two candidates and insisted they would rather support their preferred choices for the two positions.

TheCornet gathered President Tinubu met with the joint assembly of the elected lawmakers from the two chambers on Thursday.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Orji Kalu, both of whom are equally contesting the positions, attended the session addressed by President Tinubu.

Sources alleged Yari and Kalu have vowed they would not give up on their ambitions, despite President Tinubu’s plea.
