NLC, TUC give FG 14 days strike notice

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, have notified the federal government of its planned strike, beginning 14 days from now.

The labour unions said that the  government have failed to tackle the economic hardship in the country and the earlier agreements reached on the issue.

The unions said, “It is regrettable that we are compelled to resort to such measures, but the persistent neglect of the welfare of citizens and Nigerian workers and the massive hardship leave us with no choice.”

They unions said it is issuing “a stern ultimatum to the Federal Government to honour their part of the understanding within 14 days from tomorrow, the 9th day of February 2024.”
