Court vacates order stopping APC convention

Justice Bello Kawu, a judge of the FCT High Court, vacated the restraining order against the March 26 convention of the All Progressives Congress.

Kawu, in his latest ruling, said events had overtaken the order, citing a Supreme Court ruling on the matter.

The court fixed March 30 for the hearing of the substantive suit.

The Cornet reports that a member of the party, Salisu Umoru, obtained the order pending the determination of his suit. However, with the lifting of the restraining order, the ruling party seems to have resolved a major challenge threatening its unity.
