2023: Amaechi hoping for favourable miracle – Tinubu’s camp
Adebayo Shittu, the director-general of Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, has accused his former colleague Rotimi Amaechi of being lukewarm towards the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
“He has been very lukewarm, hoping that a miracle will turn things in his favour,” Shittu allegedly told the PUNCH.
The one-time minister said that Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike would automatically become the APC leader in the state, should he defect to the party.
Amaechi and Wike are political foes. Shittu said, “If it eventually happens (defection), Wike will push him aside and we all know that he is smart.
“Wike is currently busy playing psychological warfare against the PDP and leaving them to second guess if he will leave the party or not. His mission is simply vendetta against the PDP, just to ensure they lose votes to teach them a lesson,” he stated.
Amaechi had contested but lost the presidential ticket to Tinubu. He recently alleged the delegates at the presidential primaries were bribed to vote Tinubu and are currently regretting doing so.
