Kidnapped Kagara Students Set Free
Criminals who abducted 27 students and 15 others of the Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State, in Northcentral Nigeria have set them free.
A source said to be involved in the rescue purportedly told the PUNCH.
However, the Nigerian Presidency is yet to comment on the development. Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari had vowed his government would not “succumb to blackmail by bandits and criminals who target innocent school students in the expectation of huge ransom payments.” He also warned the country’s governors against paying ransoms to criminals.
President Buhari has been widely criticised for doing too little to secure the country.
