Speeding car plunges into river in Bauchi, two die

A speeding car has plunged into a river in Bauchi State, in northern Nigeria, and two people died in the incident.

The accident occured on Sunday, as confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corp, (FRSC), in the state.

Yusuf Abdullahi, spokesperson for FRSC Bauchi sector command, said the driver violated speed limits.

“The crash happened on Gombe Abba bridge on Darazo-Dukku highway, 32 kilometers from the FRSC Darazo office.

The crash involved a private 406 Peugeot with Registration number: 06H-04NS,” said the official.

He added, “The crash, which was caused by speed violation, involved four people.

“The driver lost control and plunged into the river. Two people were killed, while the remaining two were injured.

“The trapped victims and the vehicle were finally removed. The passengers were taken to the General Hospital, Dukku, Gombe State for confirmation at about 4.11pm, today 26th September, 2021.”
