Two ‘spiritualists’ arrested for duping woman of N7.5m

Police have arrested two men for duping a woman of N7.5million, under the guise of providing her spiritual help.

This is according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos state police command. He stated that the police swooped on the suspects as they were trying to get another tranche of the money from their victim. The incident happened in the Ikorodu area of the state, the police said.

“In Ikorodu, these two duped a woman to the tune of N7.5m under the guise of providing ‘spiritual help.’

“She realized the fraud and approached the police.

“They were apprehended when they arranged to get another batch of funds from her. Investigation is ongoing”, said Hundeyin.

Similarly, a patrol team from the Alausa Police Division apprehended four persons who they suspect were traffic robbers. Items retrieved from them, as the police said, are a cutlass, dagger and axe on Otedola Bridge.

“They (the suspects) were also found with Toyota and Lexus logos.”
