The police on Tuesday took in three persons, held for impersonating officers of the Nigerian Navy.

The suspects are Oladele Daniel, 23; Eriwole Ogunlana, 24, and, Mubarak Mayegun, 24.

The Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft paraded the trio on Tuesday. The suspects turned out to be officials of a private security outfit, Gallantry Intelligence Corps of Nigeria, with their uniforms looking similar to that of the Navy.

Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, the Commander, NNS Beecroft, said they arrested the suspects on September 1, 2023. The suspects, he said, had printed the image of Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, on posters and circulated the same.
