Tinubu makes changes in electricity agency
President Bola Tinubu has reconstituted the Board of the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO).
According to a government statement, the new board comprises Minister of Power as its chairman. Others are the minister of finance, who is to serve as vice-chairman, director-general, the Debt Management Office, member; director-general, the Bureau of Public Enterprises, member; and Mrs. Mojoyinoluwa Dekalu-Thomas, NELMCO Managing Director/CEO (five-year term).
Also appointed are Joseph Asuku Bello, now executive director, Asset Management (five-year term) of NELCOM; Hassan Yahya; executive director, Corporate Services (five-year term); and, Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, non-executive director (three-year term), and Prof. (Mrs) Ayanfemi Ayandele, as a non-executive director (three-year term) of the agency.
The President says he wishes that the new board “will yield expeditious and measurable progress in the management of the power sector’s post-privatization liabilities.”
