Rivers state resources wasted at PDP primaries – Fiberesima
Ibinabo Fiberesima, an ex-beauty queen and actor, has lamented that Rivers State public fund was wasted at the just-concluded presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Fiberesima’s post, apparently a veiled attack on the state Governor Nyesom WikeN, follows allegation that the major presidential aspirants bribed delegates in hard currency in return for their votes.
However, Atiku walloped Wike and other contestants to emerge the party’s candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
In her Facebook post, the former president of the actors guild of Nigeria, said: “I watched the PDP primaries yesterday and I pondered my state resources spent in futility rather than on pensions and infrastructure.”
The Nigerian-Irish born actor further said: “Shakespeare whispered these into my ears: “nothing can come out of nothing. He that is proud eats up himself: pride is his own glass, his own trumpet, his own chronicle. In peace there’s nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility.”
“And finally, she said, “a substitute shines brightly as a king until a king be by.”
The post has continued to attract reactions from her followers. One of the respondents Francis U. Cordi, said: “Ikwerre men are known for pride. I still love the guts he played, indeed he is a true son of Ikweerre… We deserve better come 2023.”
Another commenter, Hayford Fiberesima Vincent, stated, “Nobody goes to a battle field to be defeated. Politics remains the greatest problem of Nigeria.”
