Police urged to shun mass arrest over Abia slain officers
Some traditional rulers in Abia State, under the auspices of Enachioken in Council, has asked the police not to launch a mass arrest of persons over the killing of three police officers at a checkpoint in Agu Eze amaogudu Abiriba area of the state. Instead, they urged a detailed investigation of the killing.
The slain police officers are Inspector Austin Ugwu, Inspector Longinus Ugochukwu, PC Ama Ifeanyi.
Ude Oko Chukwu, the deputy of governor of Abia, who visited the community expressed government’s regret over the incident.
“We call on you to maintain vigilance in order to fish out criminals and hoodlums who may want to come here to attack innocent people as they go about their their legitimate businesses,” Chukwu told the locals.
