Pharmacist, another kidnapped in Rivers

A two-man armed gang has kidnapped a pharmacist working at a drug store, located along the Apara Link Road, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The assailants also kidnapped a woman, who had gone to procure drugs at the store. They however spared the child.
The gunmen reportedly whisked the two victims away in a waiting Sports Utility vehicle (SUV). They left the child behind
Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the state police command, allegedly denied any knowledge of the incident.
In a similar incident that happened in Cross Rivers State, Rose Bassey, a former government official was kidnapped.
The incident happened on Tuesday at the Uyanga-Okomita axis of the Ikom-Calabar highway.
The police in the state are yet to confirm or speak formally on the abduction.
