Osun monarch, others arraigned

Oba Olufemi Agunsoye, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, in Osun State, alongside nine others, has been arraigned for arson and destruction.

The defendants reportedly invaded the proposed site of the University of Agriculture, located at Ijebu-Ijesha, allegedly burning two tractors and one Caterpillar truck loader. The destroyed property are said to belong to one Major Loye Omitunde (retd).

The police also claimed the defendants allegedly burnt down the ‘Arugbo sacred shrine and carting away sand.

The magistrate adjourned the matter till February 6, 2023 for mention.
