No state pardon for convict Rahmon Adedoyin – Gov. Adeleke

Osun state Governor Ademola Adeleke has debunked the insinuation that he intends to grant convicted socialite Rahmon Adedoyin a state pardon.

A court had ordered Adedoyin killed by hanging after finding him guilty of the murder of Timothy Adegoke —a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson Olawale Rashed, in his statement, described the claim against his boss as “fake news” by “enemies of the public.”

“Those who concocted the fake news are evil-minded political operatives who are merely grasping at straws in their desperation to blackmail the state governor,” Olawale stated.

Adedoyin is the proprietor of Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife, a polytechnic, and hotels located in the town.

Adegoke had, in 2021, lodged and died under suspicious circumstance inside Adedoyin’s Hilton Honours Hotel.

To cover up, Adedoyin’s fugitive son, Rahmon Jr., arranged that Adegoke’s corpse be disposed off in the bush.

Police investigation led to the recovery of Adegoke’s already discomposing corpse and subsequently arrested six persons while Adedoyin’s son fled.
