Lagos woman gives birth at 62 after 31 years delay

While the biblical Sarah, the wife of Abraham, known in Christian theology as the “father of nations”, holds the unrivalled record of conceiving at age 90, a Lagos woman seemed to have put in a competition for such rare feat.

The difference, perhaps, is that the new mum, Mrs. Fummi Akinade, delivered her baby through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).

The 62-year old Akinade had had a delay for 31 years before having her new born.

According to agency report,  Akinade her baby on Tuesday via caesarian section at 37 weeks.

The  new mom said she went through a series of gynecological treatments, including three previous IVF procedures that failed.

She only became lucky at her fourth attempt.
