IGP delivers Ramadan homily, assures citizens of safety

Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has assured Muslims and Nigerians generally of their safety during the month of Ramadan.

Ramadan began on Sunday as Muslims embarking on a month-long fasting. Egbetokun describes the period as “a time of reflection, spiritual growth, and communal solidarity.”

“During this holy period, the Nigeria Police reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all citizens.

The IGP urges all Muslim Ummah to embrace the spirit of compassion, generosity, and forgiveness that defines Ramadan.

He also urged the public to support the police and “to embrace the community policing concept”.
