Fire incident at Murtala Muhammed Airport minor electrical sparks – officials
The Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has debunked the a rumoured fire at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, in Lagos, on Thursday.
Some media (TheCornet not included) reported the inferno that purported took place at the terminal of the E-Arrival section of the airport. The reports also stated that the fire disrupted air travels before the situation was brought under control.
According to a terse message posted to its official X page, FAAN said: “Today’s incident at the airport was limited to a minor wire spark in one of the units and has already been addressed.
“It was not a fire-related incident and did not disrupt any airport operations.
“The depiction and reporting of the event …were misleadingly sensationalized.”
