Angry Ndume walks out on Akpabio, others during plenary

Senator Ali Ndume, chief whip of the Senate, stormed out of the chamber during Tuesday’s plenary.

He had raised a Point of Order, which the President of Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio granted.

In his remarks, Ndume complained about the manner by which the senate was being run. He had not completed his remarks when Senator Akpabio interjected and ruled him out of order.

Angered by the development, Ndume stormed out. He would later return to partake in the closed executive session that followed the incident.

Senator Ndume, representing Borno State, had indicated his interest in becoming the Senate president. He however forgo his ambition to support Senator Akpabio.

In what seemed a concessionary arrangement, Ndume emerged the chief whip.
