Enugu Assembly passes anti-open grazing law

The Enugu State House of Assembly has passed the anti-open grazing law. This followed Tuesday’s public hearing into the matter.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association included associations that made contributions at the hearing.

The association, through its South East zonal chairman Giddado Sidiki, requested they be given one month to articulate their position on the bill.

The committee evidently jettisoned the plea to pass the law on Wednesday.

Edward Ubosi, the Speaker, stated the motif of the bill.

“This bill is for the unity, security and peaceful coexistence among residents of Enugu State. It is not targeted on any group or individual,” said Ubosi.
