Atiku fetes Wike on turning 55

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has paid tributes to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who turned 55 years on Tuesday.

In a congratulatory message he published on social media, Atiku said, “As you turn 55 today, I pray that all lines fall in pleasant places for you. Enjoy your special day.”

Atiku, Nigeria’s former vice president and a serial contestant for the presidency, has had a frosty relationship with Wike. Wike and four other governors of the PDP( Oyo, Benue, Abia, and Enugu) are insistent on the resignation of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the party.

The five governors hinged their demand on the need for the PDP to foster equality and fairness by having a southerner as its national chairman, since the Atiku – a northerner – is the president standard bearer of the party.

Ayu is from Benue State in Nigeria’s north-central region.
