APC reverses Ganduje’s ‘suspension’, sanctions party officialsÂ

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano State, has nullified the suspension of its national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, by executive members of his ward in Ganduje, Dawkin Tofa Local Government Area of the state.

The officials who announced Ganduje’s suspension cited his indictment for corruption.

The move followed the decision of Ganduje’s precedessor, Kano Governor Abba Yussuf to press corruption charges against him.

Yussuf’s decision to prosecute Ganduje is the aftermath of on a leaked video in which the APC chairman was seen stuffing packets of dollar bills into his Agbada ( a flowing robe popularly worn in the northern and southern parts of Nigeria).

The video emerged while Ganduje was governor of Kano.

Announcing the party’s state chapter’s decision, Malama Haladu Gwanja Ganduje, the legal advisor in the ward, said that those behind the purported suspension has been suspended themselves for a period of six months.

He added that a panel would be constituted to investigate their activities. The Kano APC said that the affected officials HD engaged in anti-party activities.
