Stop attacking Jonathan, LP’s Aisha Yesufu told

A former presidential aide, Laolu Akande, has urged a senior member of the Labour Party, Aisha Yesufu, to desist from attacking ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.

Yesufu criticised the former Nigerian leader for advising Nigerians to get over the controversies that stemmed from the February presidential poll.

In her response to Jonathan’s comment to reporters at the presidential villa after visiting President Tinubu, Yesufu said: “Jonathan still sees himself as that child without shoes. Perfect example of law of the lid playing out.”

The comment stirred Akande’s reaction: “Speaking truth to power” is “a key for a healthy democracy,” but “insults only weaken our critical messages

“Dear @AishaYesufu “Speaking truth to power is key for healthy democracy. Having been on both sides, I know accountability is vital, but insults only weaken our critical messages.

“Let’s engage in serious discourse that fosters change because there are more serious issues to sort out.”

The staunch supporter of opposition candidate Peter Obi disapproved of the Supreme Court’s ruling that validated President Bola Tinubu’s election.
