APC appoints Ganduje, Ajibola as national chairman, secretary

Abdullahi Ganduje and Basiru Ajibola have emerged the national chairman and national secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ganduje replaces Abdullahi Adamu, who was made to resign from the position over alleged financial misdemeanor. Basiru, on his part, replaced Iyiola Omisore who equally resigned  along with Adamu over the same accusation.

The APC announced the appointment of the two party bigwigs at its 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, held in Nigeria’s federal capital, Abuja.

TheCornet had reported the opposition to Ganduje becoming the national chairman. Salihu Lukman, the.party’s former vice chairman (north west), had resigned his position over the issue.

Lukman believed the position ought to revert to the north-central zone, where the former chairman  Adamu hails from.

He had urged President Bola Tinubu to desist from committing “injustice” by handpicking Ganduje-who comes from the northwest-for the position.
