Two terrorists killed while collecting self-imposed levy

The Nigerian troops operating in the terror-ridden Borno State have killed three terrorists caught demanding a levy from villagers.

According to the counter-insurgency website Zagazola, the ISWAP terrorists were enforcing Zakkat levies on Maltari Village, near Kukareta in Borno State.

Citing intelligence sources, the publication said that troops and the terrorists engaged in an exchange of gunfire on Sunday.

The troops belonging to the Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai received a distress call about the activities of the terrorists and swiftly responded.

Recovered from the slain terrorists are two Ak47 rifles with two magazines containing 16 rounds of 7.62MM special, two hand grenades and one motorcycle.
