Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine urges nationals to keep safe

The Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine has urged nationals living in Ukraine to keep safe and letting them know they are “responsible for their personal security and safety.”

Also the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission tweeted similarly asked nations “to remain calm but be very vigilant and be responsible for their personal security and safety.”

Nigeria has a meaningful number of its nations living in Ukraine. Videos have emerged on social media showing Nigerians outside their residences with their luggage.

The advisory became necessary following the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian federation on Thursday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his military campaigns was in self-defence and aimed at protecting separatist territories of Donestk and Luhask. He denied any expansionist agenda and said he did not plan to take over Ukraine.
