Timothy Adegoke: Adedoyin, others remanded in prison

An Osun State High Court sitting in Oshogbo has given an order for the remand of Ramon Adedoyin and six others in Ilesa Prison.

The other defendants are Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle.

The defendants are standing trial over the death of Timothy Adegoke, a post-graduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Timothy had died inside Adedoyin’s Hilton Royal Hotel, where he lodged as a guest.

The hotel staff, led by fleeing Adedoyin’s son, secretly buried the Adegoke without notifying either his family or the police.

At the hearing of their case on today, the prosecutor slammed an 11-count charge on the defendants.

The charges border on murder, indecent interference with a dead body, administration of extrajudicial oath and alteration to conceal evidence.

The defendants were represented by Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and K. Eleja, SAN, who moved applications for bail for their bail.

But the prosecuting counsel M. Omosun opposed the application.

Ruling, the court fixed Friday to hear the bail application.
