5 Lagos officials sacked for committing fraud

Five former officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been sacked for committing fraud. The agency, also, said it reprimanded two others for misconduct.

Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA’s public relations officer, in a statement, said that a personnel management board handed down the penalties to the affected persons.

“While five LASTMA officials indicted for corruption received a letter of termination of appointment’, remaining two  received a letter of ‘reprimand’ for absence from duty posts without leave,” he said.

The agency said that it acted based on the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations. It urged members of the public to report any misdemeanours by its officials. The LASTMA also urged drivers to comply with traffic laws.
