Teenagers sentenced for stabbing 16 years old to death

Three British teens have been convicted for the roles in the grisly murder of 16 years old Mikey Roynon at a house party celebrating another friend’s 16th birthday.

The assailants had stabbed Roynon with a ‘zombie knife’ in the neck. The victim ran out and collapsed outside the party venue in Weston. He died before paramedics and doctors arrived at the scene.

The last June incident in Bath, Somerset, got to trial. During a proceeding,  Detective Inspector Mark Newbury told a jury that the “three boys armed themselves with knives to go to a teenage girl’s 16th birthday party is utterly unconscionable.”

He added, “Mikey went to that party to socialise and to have a good time. Instead, he was attacked with a horrifying weapon, suffered a catastrophic injury and tragically lost his life.

He lamented the prevalent knife crimes among teens, saying “Since Mikey’s death, other young lives have been lost across our policing area and as a result we have launched a proactive operation to tackle and disrupt serious violence and knife crime involving young people.”

“However, we know police enforcement alone won’t solve the problem.”

The jury at Bristol Crown court sentenced one of the defendants for murder and the two for manslaughter.

This comes as another teenager was stabbed to death in Wolverhampton, UK.

Emergency services were called to the scene but paramedics failed in their attempts to save the victim’s life.

Police said they are working to confirm the victim’s identity and did not provide a specific age.

“It’s absolutely tragic that we have lost another young life to knife crime,” police officer Ch Supt Fisher of Wolverhampton Police said.
