Several ‘security personnel” killed as bandits attack joint military base
Scores of bandits have reportedly killed several security personnel, after attacking a joint military base in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The unreported attack took place last Friday.Â
Colonel Garba Moyi (rtd), the commissioner for carriers and security matters in Sokoto, confirmed the attack.
In its report, Channels television said many security personnel could not be found after the invasion.Â
Moreover, the bandits reportedly torched two patrol vehicles and drove one away, carrying with them food stuff they stole from the villagers.
Similarly, the bandits attacked another village, where two people were killed and another two, sustaining gunshot injuries.Â
The bandits also abducted three persons from the village, said Channels.Â
However, the Nigerian Army denied sucha track took place.Â
Major Yahaya Ngulde, who speaks for 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, allegedly said he was unaware of the incident.Â
