8 police commissioners, 11 other senior officers snub promotion interviews

The police authorities have revealed eight commissioners of police and 11 deputy commissioners subbed promotion interviews scheduled for them. As a consequence, the Police Service Commission (PSC) said it suspended their due promotion to the ranks of assistant superintendent of police.

In the same vein, the PSC said it  approved the promotion of three Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to the rank of Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs). They are to replace the retiring officers representing the North Central, North East and North West.

They are Hafiz Inuwa; Aji Janga; and Adeleke Bode. The PSC said it equally promoted 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioners; 17 Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Commissioners and 301 Superintendents of Police to Chief Superintendents.

In addition, 47 Deputy Superintendents of Police were promoted and, at the same time, 665 Assistant Superintendents of Police were elevated to Deputy Superintendents of Police.

The statement added the PSC endorsed the recommendation to promote ACP Nwamanna Nelson, SP Iliyas Casmir and SP Alheri Mamman.
