26 persons freed from kidnappers’ den

The Nigerian military says it rescued 26 persons from kidnappers den in Kaduna.

Edward Gabkwet, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) made the claim in a statement he issued.

The NAF said it carried out aerial bombardment of the kidnappers’ hideout.

The leader of the criminals Alhaji Shanono, and 18 of his accomplices reportedly died in the attack.

The NAF said “Shanono had scheduled a meeting with his foot soldiers at Ukambo, a village about 131 km from Kaduna” prior to the attack on their hideout.

30 rifles and 20 motorbikes belonging to the kidnappers were reportedly destroyed during the airstrike.
