Jangebe girls released from captivity – Zamfara Gov.

The 317 schoolgirls kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State have been released by their captors, says Zamfara Governor Bello Matawalle. The governor tweeted news of the girls release on Tuesday.

“Alhamdulillah! It gladdens my heart to announce the release of the abducted students of GGSS Jangebe from captivity. This follows the scaling of several hurdles laid against our efforts. I enjoin all well-meaning Nigerians to rejoice with us as our daughters are now safe,” he tweeted.

Governor Matawalle had threatened to expose those behind the kidnap saga during a sympathy visit by a coterie of traditional rulers in the state.
