Report claims Aisha Buhari orders three arrested

Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari is reported to have ordered three persons arrested. The victims, according to a report by Daily Nigerian, are Zubairu Ahmed, Salisu Isyaku and Salisu Habib.

The alleged arrests come less than two months after a public outcry forced the first lady to withdraw the libellous charges preferred against Amino Mohammed, a student of Federal University, Dutse. Mohammed had alleged in his post that the Aisha Buhari had grown fat on public funds.

In the latest incident, the newspaper claimed that the three persons are being linked with one Kaltim Ahmed, a Saudi Arabia-based critic of the First lady.

The report also said that families and friends are barred from meeting with the victims, since their arrest on December 4, 2022.

One of the victims, Salisu, is said to be a bureau de change operator and had previously done a transaction with Ahmed.

Ahmed, as quoted by Daily Nigerian, said in reference to the first lady: “Your husband deceived us, lying and crying. It is good that we elected him, and his election has exposed all the Fulanis in Nigeria,” she was quoted to have said.

“Your government is silent about the killing of Hausa people by Fulani. The southerners have rained all manner of abuses against you, but you are silent. Now you are here intimidating northerners.”

The critic runs a YouTube channel @Jaruma Hausa TV-News, where she made some allegations against Mrs. Buhari.
