Rivers Gov. Fubara appoints ex-lawmaker Edison Ehie as chief of staff

Governor Siminalaye Fubara of Rivers State has appointed the former factional speaker of the state’s house of assembly, Edison Ehie, his chief of staff.

Ehie replaces Samuel Nwanosike, the former chief of staff to the governor, who resigned his position in the tick of the political crisis that engulfed the state recently.

His appointment had been speculated by watchers after Ehie resigned his membership of the assembly.

He had been fingered in the burning of the legislative chamber, in the bid to prevent some lawmakers from removing Gov. Fubara.

Ehie and four other lawmakers are loyalists of the governor, while the majority in the assembly have declared their support for former governor, Nyesom Wike, in the disagreement between the the one-time godfather and godson.
