Real reason Kano LP guber candidate dumped Peter Obi – associate

Bashir Bashir, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party for Kano state, ditched the Peter Obi-led presidential campaign over alleged exclusion, his associate was quoted to have said.

Bashir defected from the LP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), after holding talks with its presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

While quoting the unnamed associate, TheCable is reporting that Bashir left the LP because ‘major stakeholders from the north were excluded from the decision-making process of the party’s campaign’.

The said associate, also in the report, stated that the Peter Ohi presidential campaign lacks  “clear direction on the interest of northern Nigeria”.

The sign that something was amiss manifested when Bashir boycotted Obi’s presidential rally held in Kano.

At the time of filing this report, neither LP nor its presidential candidate Obi has reacted to Bashir’s defection.
