Two arrested, guns recovered

Police have arrested 27-year-old suspect, Ifakachukwu Igwala, and recovered a locally made gun from him.

Edafe Bright, deputy superintendent of police, said Igwala and his accomplice had tried to rob a tricycle operator and a passenger.

On sighting the operatives, the two suspects jumped down and fled on foot. The police eventually arrested Igwala after a chase while his accomplice escaped.

Similarly, police recovered a gun from one Ebireri Morisson, 40, who operates a drug store. His accomplice however escaped.

“The suspect is in custody and the effort to arrest his fleeing accomplice is ongoing. Upon searching the premises, one locally fabricated short gun and one live cartridge were recovered,” Edafe said.
