Merciless thieves loot churches

The police in Ogun state said they recovered some valuables stolen from a worship center, Kingsword Church.

Suspected thieves had raided the church; the Glory Place Christian Centre; and the Redeemed Evangelical Mission; and, the Solution Embassy, all in Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state.

Items stolen from the church are musical instruments and a laptop. Kunle Soyoye, who is the pastor at the Glory Place Christian Centre, said a caller informed him about the heist.

He reported the incident to the police and discovered similar burglaries took place in other churches too.

“When we got to Kingsworld to see what happened, what was stolen was even more than what they stole in my church,” Soyoye said.

The police said they have gathered intelligence and would “arrest the perpetrators of the sacrilege.”
