MC Oluomo’s arch rival ‘Kunle Poly’ gets bail in murder case

A transport union leader Azeez Lawal, aka Kunle Poly, has been granted bail in his ongoing trial for murder.

Lawal is standing trial, alongside one Adekanbi Wahab, 38, over

the mayhem that happened in the Balogun area of Lagos Island few months ago, resulting in loss of lives.

Lawal, who had aspired to the lead the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Lagos State, is seen as a rival to the association’s suspended state chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo.

Lawal is the chairman, Lagos Island Branch B, of the motor union. While Adekunle Mustapha, aka Saigon, is the Lagos Island, Branch A chairman.

At the resumption of his trial, the Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State granted Lawal a bail in the sum of one million Naira.

Chief Magistrate, Linda Balogun, also transferred the case to a high court, stating that a prima facie case had been established against the defendants.

According to Balogun, Lawal, aged 48, is to be tried for accessory after the fact to murder while Wahab will face trial for membership of an unlawful society.
