Killers of Owo church congregants ‘arrested’

The Nigerian Government has said that gunmen who killed about 40 church congregants in Owo, Ondo state, have been arrested.

General Lucky Irabor, the chief of defence staff, said this at a briefing on Tuesday.

Irabor said he would have paraded the said killers but for ongoing investigation.

“We have arrested those behind the dastardly act in Owo.

“It was my intention to present them to the public, but because of the investigation still going on, I had to change my mind.

“I will like to say that in due course, the world will see them and others who are behind other daring attacks in the country,” he said.

Irabor added that the military has recorded “remarkable achievement”.

He said the church attack, kidnapping of passengers on an Abuja-bound train , the Kuje prison invasion, and the hit on the presidential convoy were meant to make the country look as though it was under a siege.
