Kaduna sees eighth mass kidnapping in one month

Kaduna State witnessed another mass kidnapping last Sunday, only some days after criminals seized over 200 pupils, students, and their teachers.

No fewer than 86 persons were kidnapped in the latest incident that took place in Tantatu and Aguba communities, in Kufana District of Kajuru Local Government Area.

According to Stephen Maikori, overseer of the Kufana District, the bandits struck around 10:30 p.m.

“They broke down shops, ransacked houses, and looted foodstuffs and other valuable items,” he said.

In its report, Daily Trust quoted a community leader as saying that the incessant abductions have made people flee their homes.

The police allegedly said that it lacked the actual number of victims.

“We have received the information, but we don’t have the accurate number of the victims due to poor network in the area.

“But we have already deployed our men, both conventional police and mobile policemen, including the intervention special squad for the possibility of rescuing the victims,” ASP Mansir Hassan, the public relations officer of the Kaduna State Police Command.
