Emefiele granted N300m bail

A federal judge has granted Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), a bail.

Justice Hamza Muazu put the bail bond at N300 million and two landed sureties in like sum. The sureties must own properties within the Maitama District of the FCT and should deposit their certificates of occupancy and titles of properties with the court.

He also ordered that Emefiele should deposit his international passport with the court and must remain with the Abuja Municipal Council.

This comes four months after the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos admitted Emefiele to bail in the sum of N20 million.
