Atiku, Wike hold reconciliatory meeting in London

Atiku Abubakar and Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike have scheduled a reconciliatory meeting to hold in London. Report has it that both politicians would meet Thursday.

Those privy to Atiku’s itinerary said he would travel to Paris, from where he would take off to meet with Wike in London.

Atiku and Wike fell apart following the former’s emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate.

It was said that all was set for Wike’s victory at the PDP presidential primary election until the sudden withdrawal of Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

Tambuwal would also declare his and his followers support for Atiku, thereby clearing the path for his eventual victory.

Dismayed, Wike has since distanced himself from the party and his candidate.

The latest effort at a reapproachment between Atiku and Wike comes amid the claim that the Rivers governor was secretly backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
