‘Dead man’ fathers four children with woman
A supposed dead man was found to be alive five years after many believed he had been kidnapped and killed.
It turned out that 45-year-old Yogendra Kumar from UP, in India, relocated to another town and raised a new family while he made many believe he was dead.
According to the police, Kumar and two of his brothers were involved in a brawl with a neighbour in 2018.
Following the incident, the police held Kumar for criminal intimidation and causing grievous bodily injury to his victim.
Kumar’s sudden disappearance fuelled the belief the victim, identified as Prakash, had murdered him.
As a result, Kumar’s family sought the police to press charges against Prakash.
However the mystery surrounding Kumar was resolved after the police traced his whereabouts to another town, Delhi.
It was discovered that Kumar had fathered four children with his new wife after abandoning his first wife and her children.
Kumar told the police during interrogation that he fought with Prakash over a woman he was having an extra-marital affair with, after which he decided to leave his home.
Kumar’s first wife, Rita, said he neither communicated with her not the children during his five years disappearance.
