13 persons rescued from boko haram
About 13 travellers kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists have been set free after security forces stormed a camp in where they were kept on Friday.
Boko Haram fighters seized the travelers along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway.
A combined team comprising soldiers and the police led the rescue operation, according to Premium Times.
“When they saw us coming, they were intimidated by our number, so they had to abandon the abductees and fled,” the newspaper quoted a security source as saying.
Also, Abioye Babalola, who commands the RRS, reported confirmed the rescue operation but would not give details.
“All I can say is that we give glory to God that the lives of 13 Nigerians have been saved, and they are in the process of being profiled and reunited with their family,” he reportedly said.
