Abia female drug lord arrested

A woman identified only as Adaobi has been arrested for drug dealing at her Arochukwu Street, Umuahia residence, in Abia State. Arrested along with her were her four accomplices.

Abia State officials and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, carried out the raid on Adaobi’s premises.

A statement says that Adaobi had in her possession cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and over N500,000.

Chukwunenye Alajemba, senior special assistant on homeland security to Abia Governor Alex Otti, said that the suspect “is a drug lord” and has been involved in the illicit business for a few decades”.

The seizure from her home include 321 sachets (500 grams) of dry weed; 314 wraps (400 grams) of loud; 105 grams of cocaine; 37.8 grams of heroin; 129 grams of nkpuri mmiri.

The officials also raided a criminal hideout in Umuahia identified as ‘Down Below’. Some suspects, found with narcotics, were arrested at the place too.

The Abia State government says the exercise is part of his anti-drug campaign.
