52-year-old Lagos woman ‘kills’ her 85-year-old father
A woman residing at the Okokomaiko area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, has vicariously killed her father. The suspect Aileremolen Izokpu reportedly set her father and 80-year-old mother ablaze in their home.
She fled the scene while the parents burnt. Neighbours rescued the victims and took them to a hospital.
The father, Michael Izokpu however succumbed to his burn injury.
Osemudiame Izokpu, the suspect’s younger sister, reported the matter to the police.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, said they were on the trail of the suspect.
“Based on the report, the scene was visited by detectives who also visited the hospital and the injured victim and corpse were inspected.
“The corpse was deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy.
“Meanwhile, efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect,” Hundeyin, a superintendent, said.
