19-year-old baby thief arrested
The police in Bauchi on Thursday arrested a 19-year-old suspected baby thief for stealing. The suspect, Hajara Usman, reportedly conspired with another 18-year-old man, Ibrahim Usman, to steal an infant.
Ahmed Wakil, the Bauchi police command spokesperson, said this in a statement he released.
As Wakil stated, a resident reported at the Akuyam Police Outstation that his daughter’s newborn baby was stolen, at about 4.30a.m on Tuesday.
“Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives was immediately mobilised and earnestly swung into action and eventually arrested the hoodlums.

“The stolen baby was recovered from one Hajara Usman, female (19) of Ishehi hamlet who conspired with one Ibrahim Usman, male (18) of Dugurgama hamlet to steal the baby,” he said.
Wakil added that the police are investigating the incident.
