Why Access Bank’s customers will not be able to use ATMs for 5 days

Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s money deposit banks, has said it would shut down its Automated Teller Machine services for 5 days.

In its statement, the bank’s reason is to enable it “upgrade” its ATM services, starting from 2a.m on Saturday, August 5 to 4pm on Wednesday, August 9.

The bank stated there would be disruption to its ATM services during the period of the upgrade, but promised to ensure “at least one paying ATM in each of our branches.”

The bank also said its short code would be working to enable bank customers carry out some transactions.

TheCornet reports that electronic fund transfers consumers, intermittently, experience service downtimes that, sometimes, last days.
